Saugatuck thing to do in December

BUSY HOLIDAY SEASON PLANNED 
IN SAUGATUCK-DOUGLAS AREA
 
Saugatuck­-Douglas, MI...The Holidays begin the very first weekend of December in Saugatuck/ Douglas; and without disappointment as December 2nd tears across the calendar with action packed merry-making for the entire family! 
 
DECEMBER - SAUGATUCK
 
2  WHOOTVILLE CHRISTMAS PARADE 
1:00 pm.Participate in our annual Christmas parade on Butler St. in downtown Saugatuck. Dress up as your favorite Seuss characters and join the fun.  The parade will include the Saugatuck High School band, The Whootville Peppermint Stick Marching Brigade, the Snow Shovel Drill Team, Whootville's best dressed parade pets and of course everyone's favorite Christmas villain...THE GRINCH!!! (Participants please gather at 12:30 pm. on the corner of Mason & Griffith).  
 
2  SANTA'S WORKSHOP 
11:00 am - 4:00 pm.  Warm up with Hot Chocolate & Cookies at "Santa's Workshop".  Visit with Santa - or choose from a variety of crafts and games available all day long.  And if that doesn't get the merry-making going strong - join in the Christmas Karaoke & Sing A-longs!  
 
2  TRADITIONAL CANDY CANE GAME
All day at participating shops - Game sheets can be picked up at the Coral Gables Annex, or at participating merchants. Game players can look for the Candy Cane and letter attached, finding all the letters to create a popular Christmas Phrase.  Winning entries will be entered in a drawing to win $150.00 in SDABA Bucks!*
*SDABA bucks are as good as cash at all SDABA Businesses.
 
2  THE HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY 
5:00 pm.The Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place at the Rose Garden on Butler St. in downtown Saugatuck.  In keeping with tradition, hot chocolate and cookies will be provided compliments of Laura Durham of Mill Pond Realty.  Saugatuck's Mayor, Chris Peterson and Santa, will host the tree lighting ceremony along with carolers, and other holiday characters!  
 
2  TOYS FOR KIDS BENEFIT SHOW
9:30 pm. Help us raise money and collect unwrapped toys for Christian Neighbors Toys for Kids drive! Cost is $5. For more information, contact The Dunes Resort: dunesresort.com or 269-857-1401.

2  NOUVEAU FEST  
1:00 am. - 5:00 pm. Nouveau Fest is a celebration of the first wine of the new vintage. This is a great way to kick-off your holiday celebration! Contact Fenn Valley Winery at 269-561-2396 or fennvalley.com

2 & 3 HOLIDAY REFLECTIONS CONCERT
Saturday at 7:30 pm. Sunday at 4:00 pm. First Congregational Church of Saugatuck.  Tickets available at Scooters Cafe & Pizzeria or at lakeshorecommunitychorus.org.  

2  CHRISTMAS BAZAAR
11:00 am- 3:00 pm. Sloppy Joe lunch, bake sale, candy and gift, crafts and jumble room. "Joy Lunch Bunch", Saugatuck United Methodist Church. 250 Mason St. For more information, call 269-857-2295.

8-10 and 15-17 CHARLES DICKENS' A CHRISTMAS CAROL
Celebrating 31 years! Classic Christmas tale featuring Ebenezer Scrooge, lovable Londoners and a few ghosts, brought to life by community performers.

9  WINTERFEST AT THE MANSION
